From: Juanro Phone number format is listed as (999) 9999-9999, but really depends on the province/district: For example, for Capital Federal (Buenos Aires City) is 011-9999-9999 (note the 011 area code) But for General Roca, a city in Rio Negro where my family lives, is 02941-435630 (note the 02941 area code and the six digit phone number, all in a row) For La Plata, Buenos Aires's province capital, is 0221-424-2806 (note the 0221 area code and the 3-4 digit phone number) So, is not really easy to state a rule. In general, the area code is 0+2/4 digit (less digits in more important cities) plus 5 to 8 numbers, sometimes split sometimes in a row.
