User Reviews
This was the first Clarion for Windows Book (1995) and as such is
a bit out of date. It doesn't cover ABC or Clarion 4 or 5 but it is useful if you want to
dig deeper into the Clarion language and use of templates etc. Mike McLoughlin |

the Clarion for Windows environment. |
Clarion for DOS Books
by Richard Taylor
"Tips, Tricks, and Techniques for Clarion
Professional Developer" - written
for CPD 2.1, co-author: Tony Kirk -- a number of discrete articles on
various CPD 2.1 programming techniques, including modifying model files
"Understanding Clarion Templates: Mastering Clarion Database
Developer" -
written for CDD 3.0 -- an in-depth explanation of the Clarion source
code
generated by CDD 3.0 templates, discussed line-by-line
"Tips, Tricks, and Templates for CDD" - written for CDD
3.0, co-authors:
Steve Parker, Randy Goodhew, Don Childers -- a number of discrete
articles
on various CDD 3.0 programming techniques
All three of these were available from Mitten until they all sold out.
Regarding the question as to whether any of the information contained in
them is still applicable, the answer would be YES -- the Clarion
language
has grown incrementally over the years, but its core has remained
remarkably
stable, and a good DOS programming technique is quite often
extrapolatable
to Windows.
